Welcome to my personal blog. My name is Eric D. Puryear and this is where I write about politics, my hobbies, and other things that don’t fit in on my Mastodon account, my Peertube account, my firearms website, or my law firm’s website.
By way of background information, I’m a computer scientist turned attorney who grew up in the Chicago area and now lives on the Iowa side of the Quad Cities. My hobbies include martial arts (mainly Brazilian jiu jitsu and kickboxing), aviation, shooting, cycling (mountain, road, and BMX), SCUBA diving, kayaking, and technology in general. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity, and Juris Doctor degree.
Politically I support the rights of the individual to be secure in their body and property, which is why I support abortion rights, gun rights, and want lower taxes. I care deeply about ending police brutality and racism, and addressing the climate crisis.
